A neighbour grants LIVE event, encourages Calgarians to pitch their ideas to improve, enhance, or revitalize their community or neighbourhood.
On Saturday April 14, 2018 members of our Disability Pride Team presented at the Calgary Neighbourhood Grant LIVE Pitch Night.
These grants are available once each year through the Calgary Foundation and RBC Foundation. Finalists pitched their ideas to a live studio audience. The audience, in collaboration with a panel of judges, awarded up to $50,000 to winning groups in grants ranging from $3,000 – $10,000.
Based on our pitch, Disability Pride was awarded $9,300 in grant money for our Parade and Celebration coming up on June 3rd! We are excited to put this money towards food, marketing and music for our event!
It was inspiring to see so many awesome grant proposals and to be reminded of the terrific community work that people are doing in Calgary.
