Accessible Airwaves on CJSW is a program that is dedicated to the education and exploration of disabled life, giving voice to the life and experience of people with disabilities. The programmers cover a wide array of issues and disabilities. The people involved discuss issues they are passionate about and topics they are interested in.

Adam Cairns and Ryan Fedorchuk are volunteers with CJSW and work together to create the Accessible Airwaves monthly show.

We asked Adam to share how he got involved with CJSW and Accessible Airwaves. Here is what he shared:

My Story

How I got started with all this CJSW radio station. Let me tell you two years ago I was starting at DDRC and the one of the crew to look up CJSW and start up volunteering there. At first I started with be interviewed at Cjsw radio. Then I getting trained on production. To edit and doing interviews. I started to do the final episodes for Accessible Airwaves producing for the listeners. I like CJSW radio station because I get the whole thing of running a radio station inside and out. Like how to work in a radio show and produce shows every month which I love doing. I would love to work for a radio station in Calgary or in Alberta. I still love CJSW radio to volunteer there until which is never.
